Bondi Firelight 2026: Free Bondi Beach Event This October

Bondi is turning up the heat this spring with Bondi Firelight, a free evening of fire dancers, music and beachside atmosphere at South Bondi.

Taking place on Thursday 1 October from 6pm to 8.30pm, Bondi Firelight is one of those easy local events that doesn’t require much planning. Grab a picnic rug, round up the family or a few friends and head down to the sand as Bondi shifts into night mode.

It also lands during the NSW spring school holidays, making it a particularly handy option for families looking for something a little different to do without another expensive ticket attached.

Bondi after dark

The evening is designed around a relaxed beachside atmosphere, with music by the ocean and a crackling fire as the sun goes down.

Later in the evening, fire dancers from Luxe Entertainment will take to the sand, bringing a little extra spectacle to South Bondi.

It’s simple, local and very Bondi: people spread across the beach, ocean in the background and something happening after dark that you don’t see every week.

Bring a picnic rug, and maybe an instrument

Waverley Council is also encouraging anyone feeling musical to bring an instrument along and add to the atmosphere.

For everyone else, the preparation is even easier: a picnic rug, something warm for later in the evening and perhaps dinner or snacks for the beach.

The event is alcohol-free and family-friendly, so it works equally well as a school-holiday outing, a casual night with friends or a very low-effort Bondi date night.

Local Bird tip: Grab an early dinner around Bondi, then head down to the southern end of the beach before dark and make an evening of it.
