Sculpture by the Sea is back this week, turning the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk into one of Sydney’s most spectacular outdoor galleries.
Running from 16 October to 2 November 2026, the free exhibition will feature around 100 sculptures along the famous two kilometre stretch of coastline.
It is one of those Sydney events that locals and visitors pile into every year, and with ocean views on one side and large scale art appearing around every corner, it is easy to see why.
Go early or choose a weekday if you can. You’ll get more room to actually stop, look and enjoy the walk.
More than just the coastal walk
There is plenty happening beyond the outdoor trail too.
Sculpture Inside returns at Marks Park, showcasing smaller works by exhibiting artists, while the Mobile Exhibition Guide lets you learn more about the pieces as you make your way along the route.
Visitors can also vote for their favourite works, and dedicated access and inclusion programs are available for people who may need additional support during their visit.
Make a morning of it
Start at Bondi, wander through Marks Park and continue towards Tamarama. Take your time, stop for the works that catch your eye and then reward yourself with coffee or breakfast afterwards.
Art, coastline and a Sydney spring morning. Hard to argue with that.
