If You’re One of the Last to Know… Rick Stein has Landed in Coogee Beach

Word’s been spreading like sea spray, and if you’re one of the last to hear… yes, it’s true. The legendary Rick Stein is setting up shop right here on Coogee Beach, inside the brand-new InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach, opening this summer.

It’s big news for our coastal patch. Coogee’s always had heart, the beach walks, the early morning swimmers, the families at the park, and the locals who never quite leave. But now, we’re getting a splash of international sparkle to match our laid-back soul.

Rick Stein’s new restaurant will sit right on the beachfront, serving up what he does best seafood that sings of the ocean. Expect buttery lobster, local oysters, crab linguine, and grilled fish so fresh you’ll taste the salt air.

If you’ve eaten at his Bannisters spots in Mollymook or Port Stephens, you’ll know the vibe — unfussy, full of flavour, and always about the produce. But Coogee will bring something different: a buzzier city energy, the clinking of glasses as the sun goes down, and that unmistakable hum of summer by the sea.

The InterContinental itself is already turning heads before the opening with a five-star beauty designed for barefoot luxury, ocean views from every angle, and a serious lift for the local dining scene. Between the hotel and Rick Stein’s arrival, Coogee’s not just a day trip anymore. It’s a destination.

So if you hadn’t heard, now you have.
And if you had, you’re probably already imagining that first long lunch with the waves as your soundtrack.

Opening December 202. Visit website for details.
