A 250-seat Japanese–Peruvian restaurant with a two-metre robata grill, cocktails and DJs is opening in Bondi this November.
International restaurant brand Chotto Matte will make its Australian debut at 140 Curlewis Street on Sunday 22 November, with bookings opening Wednesday 21 October.
What’s coming to the table?
The menu centres on Nikkei cuisine, bringing together Japanese cooking techniques and Peruvian flavours.
Head Chef Jay Choi will lead a kitchen serving sushi, sashimi and ceviche, alongside robata dishes, tasting menus and three dishes exclusive to Bondi.
Cocktails, art and DJs
Bold artwork and music will carry the experience beyond the menu, with a space designed specifically for Bondi.
The opening also brings Australian-born founder Kurt Zdesar’s global restaurant brand home, following its launch in London’s Soho in 2013.
